Nošovice, 9 June 2020: As every year, Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Czech (HMMC) will support regional sport and cultural activities, as well as projects focused on children and disabled persons. 35 projects will receive a contribution from HMMC in the fifth year of its grant programme Together 2020.

This year, applicants had almost two months for the submission of their applications, until the end of April. A total of 65 proposals were received. The expert commission deciding about the applications consisted of employees across HMMC departments, but also of representatives of the Moravian-Silesian Region, for example.
The car maker from Nošovice will distribute CZK 640,000 among the successful applicants. Most of the money will support projects focused on children and sports. Applicants for a grant of up to CZK 20,000 per one project can be either natural persons or legal entities. HMMC contributes financially to the payment of eligible costs, up to a maximum of 50 percent.
Support was provided primarily to projects in which the car maker’s employees are involved. Organizers of sports and children’s events throughout the region are among those who can look forward to the contribution; however, the provision of equipment for several clubs and technical education for children will be supported by the grant programme as well. Some of the money will help the organizations tending to people with disabilities. Complete list of all selected projects can be found at https://hyundai-motor.cz/o-spolecnosti/grantovy-program-2/
“Social responsibility is entering the core of our corporate DNA. I am immensely proud that this year, for the fifth time, we supported marvellous projects submitted not only by our employees, but also by other non-profit organizations from our region. We believe that our support will help in the right places. And we are already looking forward to the next year,” said Barbora Hermanová from the HMMC Public Relations department.
Social responsibility is integrated in the corporate strategy of the car manufacturer based in Nošovice. The Together grant programme, which is one of the main pillars of support for its employees’, as well as regional activities, was first launched by the car maker in 2016. This is the HMMC plant’s second project providing regular financial support to the region this year. In early February, the company handed over symbolic checks to the mayors of thirteen surrounding municipalities as part of the ninth year of the Good Neighbour project. To each of them, HMMC donated CZK 50,000, providing support to the local sports, cultural and societal life. So far, CZK 700,00 was distributed to the municipalities under the Good Neighbour project. The third large project providing financial support is the annual call of the Hyundai Foundation, starting August 17th this year, supporting community projects and projects involving the protection and improvement of our environment.
Technical education, including the support for hydrogen-powered RC car model races, traffic safety in the form of support for the cycling competition for 4th grade pupils in Frýdek-Místek, and cooperation with universities are among the other pillars of the company’s social responsibility. For a long time now, the company has also been involved in ecological activities in the form of participation in different eco-days or a call for the significant reduction in the use of plastics and plastic packaging.
