Hyundai from Nošovice establishes a partnership with another important brand strongly connected to the region. Nošovice car manufacturer is a new partner of Dolní Vítkovice (DOV), a unique area that has turned into a unique educational, cultural and social centre with an international reach.
Hyundai’s long-term partnership with DOV will result, for example, in the implementation of an educational program with an automotive theme, which will focus on the development of technical thinking in children. Thanks to the cooperation with the Czech representative office of the Hyundai brand, in the future visitors to Dolní Vítkovice will also be able to look forward to a new interactive exhibition in the premises of the Science and Technology Centre.
“The connection of the Hyundai brand with the Dolní Vítkovice region means a lot to us and we value this connection very much. The industrial landmark of Ostrava is not only a great tourist destination, but mainly interactively and playfully educates almost all age groups. We are very happy that, together with DOV, we will make a positive contribution to broadening the horizons of the next generations,” said Barbora Hermanová, head of the Public Relations Department at HMMC.
Between 1828 and 1998, coal was mined and pig iron was produced in the unique area of Dolní Vítkovice. The transformation of the industrial complex began in 2007, i.e. the same year when the construction of the Hyundai plant in Nošovice began. Dolní Vítkovice and the Hyundai car factory are also stops on the Technotrail map, a trail of technical attractions in the Moravian-Silesian Region.
“We value the cooperation with Hyundai very much. This year marks exactly 20 years since the area of the former Vítkovice ironworks was declared a national cultural monument by law. We not only care for the industrial heritage, but also devote ourselves to education. The great news is that we are opening the possibility of education in the field of electromobility with such an important car company. I am looking forward to mutual synergies,” said Tomáš Šiřina, executive director of Dolní Vítkovice.
Thanks to the partnership with DOV, the Nošovice car company Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Czech continues to develop activities related to the support of the region and social responsibility. Since last year, for example, it has been a general partner of the FC Baník Ostrava Academy, thus supporting the sports training of children and youth in one of the most successful football clubs in the Czech Republic. Last year, cooperation with ČSOP Salamandr aimed at developing the valuable Beskydy meadows also began. The company also supports, among other things, hydrogen education through the Horizon Hydrogen Grand Prix program and, in the field of culture, is the general partner of the popular Frýdek-Místek festival FM City Fest.
A permanent feature is the Good Neighbour program designed to develop community life in the villages around the production plant or the Together grant program, through which the automaker supports regional sports, culture and projects dedicated to children and the handicapped. With its various activities, the company thus contributes to improving the quality of life in the Moravian-Silesian region.
