The Hyundai i30 Fastback N, manufactured in Nošovice near Frýdek-Místek, has built on the success of its successor the i30 N, and won decisively the public vote for the sports car category in Car of the Year 2020. Out of the eight cars, the Ferrari F8 took second place (39 votes behind the i30) and the Kia Stinger claimed third place, with 141 fewer votes. The N division hot hatch sports cars have also achieved year-on-year sales growth of 36 %.
In the Czech Republic in 2019 249 model N and N Line cars were sold, a year-on-year increase of 193 %. The high-performance Ns achieved sales grew by 36 % to 116 (including 71 Fastbacks).
The Hyundai i30 Fastback N, with a starting price of CZK 719 990 is the first truly hot hatch in the C segment of the market. As with the i30 N, it is equipped with a 2.0 litre petrol engine, which gives 250 hp in the standard version and 275 hp in the Performance version. Along with all the model N and N Line cars, it comes of the manufacturing line in Nošovice, where some of the development process also took place. The Hyundai i30 Fastback N combines the elegant design of the i30 Fastback with the performance and exhilarating ride of the 5-door hatchback i30 N, on whose success it continues to build.
The Nošovice-produced i30 Fastback N topped the online poll on Garaz.cz, and the votes of the total of 36198 readers made it the only sports car in the top three. As well winning awards in the Czech Republic, the Hyundai i30 Fastback N has gained major recognition abroad. In December 2019 it took top place in the reader’s vote for “Auto Bild Sports Car of the Year,” organised by Germany’s leading motoring magazine, Auto Bild.
