Friday the 13th was marked by good deeds. A volunteer team consisting of our colleagues went to the village of Krásná to the Hyundai meadow, which together with ČSOP Salamandr made a little more beautiful. This time, the agenda was to clean and restore the meadow by planting a planting of motherwort, honeysuckle, sedge, cornflower, buckeye and shield tree. The planted plants will speed up the return of butterflies, for example.
Colleagues helped at the Hyundai Meadow as part of the fourth volunteer day. “We’re clearing the meadow of grass, leaves and branches so that we can plant the daisies and various herbs. For me, a great thing. I like being in nature, it’s better than on the line,” commented volunteer Milan Slováček, who works in the Paint Shop Department. Once a year, every employee can go on a volunteer day instead of a standard shift at work.
“I rate it very positively. It’s a great event. We are a great bunch of volunteers here, I would definitely sign up again next time,” added Renata Tarabášová from the Treasury Department.
The conservationists are counting on planting more plants next year as well. They are also planning more intensive mowing so that the meadow will have a free path to regeneration. “The partnershipwith ČSOP Salamandr is long-term. We will take care of the meadow for a total of five years. We will also plant trees with them, which our employees could choose instead of the annual gift. I am very happy that over 600 employees chose 35 trees for Beskydy, because supporting Beskydy and its biodiversity is very important,” said Barbora Hermano, Head of External Relations at HMMC.
Thank you for another volunteering day, we are already looking forward to the next one!
