Company

After three years, we again defended the title of Health Promoting Company in the competition organized by the National Institute of Public Health.

The main objective of the competition “Health Promoting Company” is to reward those companies for which health promotion has become an integral part of everyday working life and which take care of their employees’ health above and beyond the law.

“The companies that applied for the title of Health Promoting Company were evaluated on the basis of a self-assessment questionnaire, which is sent to us together with the current description of the Health Promotion Project. Great emphasis is also given to the information obtained from the personal audit and other materials supplied. A number of these companies not only take excellent care of their employees, but their activities benefit the wider community and are an important factor in their region. In addition, by taking exemplary care of the health and healthy lifestyle of their employees, they motivate other enterprises to try to introduce similar measures,” says Vladimíra Lipšová, Head of the Centre for Occupational Hygiene and Occupational Medicine, National Institute of Public Health, on behalf of the evaluation team.

Companies compete in two categories: large enterprises (number of employees over 250) and small and medium-sized enterprises (up to 250 employees). The title is awarded for a period of 3 years.

In 2020, we won the Health Promoting Enterprise title for the first time and this year we successfully defended it. There are 3 levels awarded, and just like three years ago, we achieved the highest level 3 (the list of awarded companies can be found on the SZÚ website HERE).

Companies are evaluated in 8 predefined criteria:

– Health promotion in the workplace

– human resources and organisation

– workplace health promotion planning

– social responsibility

– implementation of workplace health promotion

– results of workplace health promotion

– health protection

– the environmental impact of the organisation

The award ceremony of the Health Promoting Company 2023 took place at the Kaiserstein Palace in Prague. A total of 24 companies/organisations received the award this year. This competition is also known on an international level.
