A great success for our company: we became the absolute winner of the National Quality Award of the Czech Republic for 2023.

Our company, Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Czech, won the 1st place in the National Quality Award of the Czech Republic in the most prestigious Excellence Programme, in the Private Sector category. At the same time, Hyundai of Nošovice is the absolute winner of the National Quality Award of the Czech Republic.

The National Awards of the Czech Republic for Corporate Social Responsibility, Quality and Family Business were officially presented by the Ministry of Industry and Trade in cooperation with the Quality Council of the Czech Republic on Tuesday 21 November at the Wallenstein Palace. The awards were received by Dong Woo Kum, Head of Quality Division, and Miroslav Jasiok, Head of Quality Subdivision, for HMMC.

We would like to thank all the employees who contributed to winning the prestigious award.

About the National Quality Award

“The National Quality Awards of the Czech Republic are one of the most prestigious awards for which organisations in our country can compete. They recognise those who have achieved outstanding results at the level of a systemic approach to the application of quality, social responsibility and sustainability and contribute to the development of the entire Czech Republic,” said Minister of Industry and Trade Jozef Síkela, adding: “It is about recognising not only the results of those involved, but more importantly the journey to them. It is also about innovation, the search for smart solutions and the ability to continuously improve.”

For companies and organisations, the National Awards of the Czech Republic are an important opportunity for an independent assessment of the management system applied. The awards were given in accordance with the National Quality Policy of the Czech Republic in three main areas.

Nearly 50 organisations took part in this year’s competition. Among others, two absolute winners of the National Awards of the Czech Republic were announced – including HMMC. “I congratulate all the awarded organisations on their success and I am also pleased with the interest of organisations that appear repeatedly in the National Awards of the Czech Republic and want to continuously push the level of quality, social responsibility and sustainability to a higher and higher level. This fact also reflects feedback in the form of the value, meaning and benefit of the award as such,” said Eduard Muřický, Chairman of the Quality Council of the Czech Republic.

The National Awards of the Czech Republic for Social Responsibility and Sustainable Development and the National Quality Awards of the Czech Republic in the EXCELENCE programme are awarded on the basis of the methodology of the international EFQM schemes applied in more than 80 countries worldwide. “Organisations receive feedback in the form of a comprehensive report prepared by EFQM-certified assessors, which identifies strengths and areas for improvement. The National Awards of the Czech Republic also contribute to the competitiveness of organisations,” added Pavel Vinkler, 1st Vice-Chairman of the Czech Quality Council.
