Today at 9:00 am a collective agreement for 2017 and 2018 was signed by representatives of Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Czech (HMMC) and both trade unions.
Based on the outcome achieved after seven rounds of negotiations, wages at HMMC will increase by 12 % on average, with effect from 1st March this year.
Basic wages in HMMC will increase this year by 4.56 % from 1 March and by 2018, with effect from 1 January, by 4.66 %. All bonuses and bonuses derived from the basic wage will also increase proportionately, so the total increase will be 12 %. For an Operator 2 role, which is the most common in the HMMC plant, this increase will be on average CZK 2655 per month for the next two years.
Dongwoo Choi, president of HMMC, praised the outcome of the collective action, saying, “High work commitment, flexibility of our employees and quality of their work contributed last year to HMMC’s best results in its entire history. The success of our vehicles on world markets is not to be taken for granted – it is the result of the enormous efforts of the HMMC team, our employees, as it is the prosperity and long-term development of our company that builds on them. They are therefore rightly entitled to this wage increase.”
