Electromobility is a key topic for our plant, and it is driving the entire automotive industry. There is growing interest in electrified vehicles from our production – the share of hybrids, plug-in hybrids and electric vehicles in production was over 40% in the first quarter of this year.
The development of electromobility in the Moravian-Silesian Region will also be helped by the Together for Electromobility programme, under which we will provide selected candidates with an electric vehicle from our own production – the Hyundai Kona Electric, which is being produced at HMMC from 2020.
We launched a pilot project to promote clean mobility last summer, when we donated the Kona Electric for one year to the Třinec City Council for business purposes. In the coming months, thanks to the Together for electromobility programme, other interested parties will be given a free Hyundai Kona Electric for six months. They will experience the benefits of an electric vehicle for themselves.
The aim of the programme is to introduce electromobility to the general public in cooperation with towns, municipalities and organisations from the Moravian-Silesian Region. Applicants can be municipalities, towns, voluntary associations of municipalities, as well as regional associations, foundations, endowments, institutes, public benefit societies, religious legal entities, schools or contributory organisations. Applicants may also include organisational units of the state, state or national enterprises operating in the field of the environment, health, education, research, development or culture, which are based or operate in the Moravian-Silesian Region.
