Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Czech (HMMC) is responding to the devastating floods that also affected a significant part of the Moravian-Silesian region, in which the automaker operates. The company provided an amount of CZK 10,000,000 to help the victims.

The car manufacturer put the money into a collection on the Donio portal called “Hyundai for the region | Together we help after the floods 2024”. Employees of the plant and other interested parties can also contribute any amount there. The collection can be accessed on the website donio.cz/hyundaiprokraj until October 8, 2024. The entire proceeds, in cooperation with the non-profit organization People in Need, will go to areas affected by floods.

“For a long time, we have been involved in the development of the Moravian-Silesian region through various activities. Now our help is needed in the areas affected by the devastating flood. We feel solidarity with the victims of the disaster, so we firmly believe that a monetary donation will be at least a small patch for the distressing events of the last few days. We are also focusing on our employees who were seriously affected by the flood. Through our in-house solidarity fund, they have the opportunity to apply for financial assistance,” said HMMC President Changki Lee. In addition, HMMC also lent three Hyundai Tucson cars with 4×4 drive and two Hyundai i30 cars to People in Need. The vehicles from Nošovice will serve the flood team, which helps in the affected areas mainly in Krnov and Jeseník. Field workers of People in Need are trained in helping people affected by an extraordinary event, providing social counseling, some also in crisis intervention.
