transmissions production

Cars with a classic manual gearbox and three pedals are on the retreat, so at the end of February we ended the production of manual gearboxes in the Transmission shop. Similar to the former Transmission shop, it will be rebuilt into a Mobis operation focused on the assembly of battery systems for electric cars.

Transmission shop in numbers and dates  

– In total, 5,259,500 manual transmissions were produced at the Transmission shop (the most 6-speed transmissions of the M6CF3-1 type) – 2/3 of this number are accounted for by the Transmission shop 1 hall and the remaining 1/3 by the Transmission shop 2 hall. 

– In 2023, a total of 186,500 six-speed manual transmissions were produced at HMMC, of ​​which approximately 120,000 went to Kia plants in Slovakia and Hyundai in Turkey. This was a year-to-year decrease of approx. 15%.  

– The production of battery systems started in the Nošovice industrial zone in the former TM2 hall towards the end of 2022. Since last year, batteries for the new electric Kona have also been assembled there.
