In the second year of the unique independent comparison of Czech companies according to ESG, we are in the TOP 10 among large companies.

Business is supposed to generate profit. But that is not enough. You need to do business sustainably – and we in Nošovice are setting an example. The results of the ESG Rating 2023 are further proof of this. Among domestic companies in the large enterprise category, we are ranked in an excellent 10th place. We are the only automotive company in the top 10.

This year, a total of 135 Czech companies took part in the survey, with a total turnover of CZK 1.2 trillion in 2022 – 17.2 percent of the domestic GDP. 55% more applicants were interested in taking part in the survey than last year. The large company section attracted 40% of applicants, while another 60% were small and medium-sized companies.

“The ESG Rating scores those companies that are detailed, meticulous, data-oriented and transparent in their ESG reporting to the public,” said Ladislav Tyll, an expert in international corporate strategy at the Faculty of Business Administration of the Prague University of Economics and Business and academic director of the CEMS programme, who is responsible for the methodology and evaluation of the ESG Rating.

The questionnaire was used as the basis for the analysis again this year, but it differed in scope and content for both categories. It thus reflected the most relevant topics for them and was closer to the form of the future mandatory ESG report. For example, in the environmental category (E), the survey assessed how the company approaches pollution, electricity consumption or waste and water management; in the social category (S), the evaluators looked at, for example, the company’s approach to diversity among employees and their rights; and in the corporate governance category (G), the survey focused mainly on how transparently the company communicates its business model or how effectively it monitors ESG risks.

We were awarded for our approach to the environment, transparent communication and supplier management, among others. Supply chain ESG in particular is one of the key areas of non-financial reporting on which there is a strong focus.
